We are planning to be away from April 16th until October 25th. We will be spending 10 days in California on the way over and 4 weeks in South Africa on the way back.
Our plans with Le Fabuleux are to cruise from the Netherlands to Prague via the Mittelland Canal and the mighty River Elbe and then to back track to Berlin and explore the myriad rivers and lakes of Mecklenberg and Greater Berlin before heading slowly back to our base in Ossenzijl in Northern Netherlands where the boat will spend the winter wrapped up warmly 'on the hard'. That's about 3000 km in all. The map below will help explain it.
